Markanthony J. Mills

Markanthony J. Mills was born in the year of 1967 in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late Earl L. Woodfolk and the former Rose M. Mills. He was educated in the Albemarle County Virginia School System, graduating from Albemarle High School in June 1985. He enlisted in the
United States Marine Corps in 1985 where he served in the Marine Reserves, attaining the rank of E5 Sergeant until leaving with an Honorable Discharge in 1993.

 

In October 2008, after continuous, faithful service as a Licensed Ordained Deacon, Rev. Mills was called to preach the Gospel at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Charlottesville VA, where the Rev. Dr. Lehman Bates II is the Pastor. After a five (5) year ministerial practicum, he received his Certificate of Ordination at Ebenezer in January 2014, and graduated from the Virginia Baptist College, Fredericksburg VA, in May 2015, receiving a Certificate of Bible with a Concentration in Bibliology.

 

He currently serves as a Pastoral Assistant at Ebenezer and has been involved in multiple outreach ministries which has given him opportunities to be of service to his church and the surrounding community. His outreach services include but are not limited to; youth ministry, prison ministry, assisting with PACEM (People And Congregations Engaged in Ministry) in feeding the homeless, assisting with annual community Thanksgiving meal giveaways, moderator at several local race and reconciliation roundtable events, and international outreach opportunities through the Global Faith Alliance in Saint Kitts & Nevis.

 

Rev. Mills has been married to his wife Esther since 1988 and currently resides in Ruckersville VA. He is also a Licensed Contractor and the Proprietor of Mills Landscaping and Handyman Service, a Professional Grounds and Building Maintenance Company serving the Central Virginia area.
